Well, today was the last day of classes. As of this afternoon at approxinately 2:48, I am a free man, to whatever extent finishing one's high school classes makes one a free man. I'd've thought that this would be a wonderfully liberating experience, the weight of the world would fall from my shoulders, and I would be ecstatic beyond all reason. Sadly, this is not so. Finishing school actually means more work for me, since now we have to actually get our gear in order and move. I get the feeling that I was just getting the hang of this high school thing, and then, just as I manage to finally figure out what's going on, it's over. It's really somewhat disappointing to be leaving. It's not disappointing to be leaving but rather to be leaving right when it looked like maybe things could get better. We'll see how it all works out, no? I'll be in the City tomorrow to go watch TMBG. That should be fun.

I was thinking about you on the drive out to the coast today ('round noon my time), because you are awesome and done with high school. Good luck with moving, and enjoy TMBG! enjoy extra for me!

and I felt somewhat similarly about the end of HS, actually. I even had friends my senior year, was generally respected and liked, and then I had to start all over again! Luckily I am perfect so they like me here at Reed. :P

congrats on being done! by "we" do you mean your family is moving? that does kind of suck, but i hope you find some time for rocking out and enjoying the summer.

I shall indeed rock out throughout the summer. I'll be giving tours and selling kitsch at the Fire Island Lighthouse, Fire Island National Seashore. Beaches, fun, an ugly t-shirt, federal bureaucracy, and aerobic exercise. What more could I ask for?

I have a few more days of graduation practice myself, and graduation on Tuesday . . . and that's it. For me, it's been wierd because all these people have come out of the woodwork suddenly, people I wish I had gotten to know during high school, and are suddenly telling me they feel the same. You just gotta blink, say "damn," and maybe exchange a letter or two, I guess.

ENJOY YOUR TMBG! I can't wait for the free show in Philadelphia. I'm so going to be there. (My first concerty-thing.)
