Question: It is acceptable to go to a college solely for the purpose of acquiring a Down-east Maine accent. Affirm or negate citing relevant examples and extrapolating to general cases. Partial credit will be given for incomplete answers.

Addendum: Bowdoin is a good school, however (presumably that's the one you're talking about) so why would you be going there "solely for the purpose of acquiring a Down-east Maine accent"?

I was unaware of the existence of a Down-east Maine accent. So I can't really give you an answer because I don't know how the accent sounds.
